Becoming an LDS Life & Relationship Coach

Since earliest childhood, I have had an innate gift of sensing others’ feelings.  For as long as I can remember I have also often intuitively known the source and causes of others' pain, their doubts, their fears, as well as many times, their deepest desires and heartfelt longings.

As a teen and young adult, others would come to me and share their feelings and problems.  I intuitively knew how to help – because I felt their deeper feelings and beliefs, sometimes even those outside of my friends’ own conscious awareness! - underneath the “stories” they told me about their lives, and was intuitively prompted by the Lord in the way I helped them.
As for many with spiritual gifts for which there has been little social acknowlegement, I didn’t understand this gift for many years.  I sought out ways to explain it in the conventional world I lived in.
One of the reasons I completed my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Brigham Young University, was to direct and focus what I innately have always known, and been able to do – how to guide others in their journey of spiritual healing, and transformational life and relationship growth.

While I have been an LDS therapist, LDS life coach and relationship expert for over twenty years, I have been an innate, natural-born Spiritual Healing Intuitive all my life.

Since graduate school, I have had a strong love and involvement with women's life experiences.  Our journeys of re-discovering and connecting with our identities as Daughters of God, of becoming wives and mothers, and of creating the families we do are amazing and inspiring.   As for many of us, this has been a natural extension of my own life journey as a woman, wife and mother.

As the author of the forthcoming book, Cinderella Wisdom:  A Woman's Journey of Spiritual Healing to Sacred Marriage,  I am passionate about  assisting women to heal their patterns of personal and relationship pain and struggle, and step off the Relationship Roller Coaster onto the  steady ground necessary to build strong, lasting, fulfilling and flourishing marriages.

How I Became an LDS Life Coach & Relationship Expert

Ideally, individual women or couples come to me in the early stages of personal or relationship challenges, before their problems become so serious that one or both of them is seriously considering divorce.  In this case, I assist them to transform their lives, or prevent divorce by helping women or couples resolve and heal the underlying reasons and invisible roots for their personal or relationship challenges.

When this is not possible, I can help you rebuild your life and reclaim your dreams after divorce.

Among the many professional activities and groups of women I have assisted, women who are thinking about, going through, or have been divorced are among the groups that I have most heart for assisting.  My interest and love for helping divorced women began in the 1980's, when I was in graduate school as a recently divorced young mother.

I was searching for a thesis topic, and chose to complete an original research project about the divorce experience of women divorcing gay men.  I realized in that research process how little was known and how little help was available for this "invisible" group, (it was non-existent, actually!) and their unique, little-understood experiences and needs.

I was excited to share what I learned with other professionals who might assist women in this circumstance, and was grateful when the research I completed was the second published study in the country at the time about women married to gay men, and the first to study their divorce experience.  (Adjustment of Women Married to Homosexual Men: An Exploratory Study, The American Journal of Family Therapy, Vol. 18, No. 3, Fall 1990; pg. 273-284).

As I was completing the research, I was also inspired and guided by the Lord in creating my first specialty program for women.  Entitled When Your Husband Comes Out of the Closet, it was designed to help women divorcing gay men acknowledge, validate and heal their inner wounds and experiences.  My thesis research unveiled these wounds for divorced women, and  my first women's specialty program opened the way for healing them.

Through the ensuing twenty years, I have continued to assist women to transform their lives, including rebuilding their lives after divorce.  I have led numerous women's personal growth groups, divorce recovery groups and have  assisted hundreds of divorcing or divorced women through individual therapy or coaching.

This has naturally expanded into providing therapy and coaching for relationship and family problems for women, married couples and families in the stage of remarriage and forming a step family.  Having led numerous therapy and coaching groups for married and re-married couples, and assisted hundreds of women, couples and families in this stage of life, I have found that applying what we know about marriage and family formation in general, for remarried couples and families in this common, yet distinctive experience, doesn’t meet their needs very well.

For over two decades, I have been listening to and providing therapy or coaching for hundreds of women struggling in their personal lives, or in marriages that are struggling or have gone awry.

I have seen how deeply we yearn to be happy, especially for a happy marriage and family life.

I have seen how we will go around the Relationship Roller Coaster over and over again, until we finally get it right. I have witnessed firsthand the sacrifices we, as women, will make for the fulfillment of our yearning.

And I have seen the cost born by ourselves and our children as we have struggled.

I feel grateful that I am continually led by the Lord in my profession, and several years ago, I was guided to the arena of Energy Psychology.  With this expansion, I have gradually been guided to the newer way of empowering clients to achieve their dreams through life and relationship coaching .   I now practice as an LDS Life and Relationship Coach, providing Spiritual Energetic Healing™ with Flourish Life and Relationship Coaching™.

With the expanded resources of Energy Psychology, which I have synthesized as part of Flourish Life & Relationship Coaching™, my innate spiritual healing gifts are enhanced.

I feel so grateful to be able to empower other LDS women and couples in Utah, California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and through-out north America, through my specialty LDS life and relationship coaching programs, to find and heal the root causes of the patterns of pain in their lives and relationships, and move beyond their struggle to more flourishing and happiness ~ today ~ in the real world.

On a Personal Note

You may wonder if I have a life outside of my profession.  Yes!  I am happily married to a wonderful man who truly adores me.  Together, we have four wonderful adult children.  Three of them are happily married; one of our daughters is single.  We also have five darling grandchildren.  They are the most beautiful children in the world (truly) !

I am also a musician, having played the piano since the age of five.  I enjoy playing for church events and services, and occasional community events, as well as conducting choral groups.

I am also an avid reader. I collect living antiques ~ Old Garden Roses.  I have some that are grown from cuttings taken from roses in Marie Antoinnette’s garden in Mailmason, France.
